How our research benefits to society

Digitalisation becomes increasingly important in all fields of healthcare including primary care, specialistic care, public health and in preventative medicine. Implementation of eHealth is a challenge because it requires collaboration between different scientific disciplines and new scientific methodologies.

In our projects, we collaborate with scientists, companies, societal organisations and municipalities in developing, testing and implementing all kinds of digital innovations. Our collaboration parties are located in the Netherlands and abroad. For example, our partners include Charité Berlin, the International Primary Care Respiratory Group, and the European Respiratory Society. The uniqueness of our group lies in the fact that we combine research methodologies from medical, psychological and organisational sciences. All our projects have a clear societal impact and we try to bridge the gap between academia and society. For example, we give digital health workshops for patient organisations and in 2024 we organised a successful interdisciplinary conference in Groningen. We develop education on digital healthcare, provide eHealth workshops for healthcare professionals. We present our findings at national and international conferences for scientists and healthcare professionals.
