eHealth education initiatives

Research
Advancing digital healthcare knowledge through educational programs and workshops, empowering students, professionals, and patients to embrace innovation and improve healthcare outcomes.

Our research group is dedicated to advancing knowledge about digital health innovations and digital health research. We are fostering skills in the field of digital healthcare through diverse educational initiatives. We deliver guest lectures and workshops for students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University College Groningen, the Master’s programs in Clinical and Psychosocial Epidemiology, and the Medical Faculty. Additionally, we provide specialized workshops on innovation management and eHealth implementation for the Executive MBA Health at the University Business School and the Master’s program in Zorg en Welzijn.

Beyond academic settings, we also engage with patient organizations, offering workshops that introduce participants to digital healthcare. These workshops allow patients to explore telemonitoring devices, health apps, and other digital tools, helping them navigate the evolving landscape of healthcare technology.

Through these educational activities, we aim to highlight the transformative potential of digital health, equipping participants to assess its impact and empowering them to embrace innovation for improved patient care and professional practice.

Relevance

How our research benefits to society

By educating students and professionals, the initiatives help prepare a workforce that is ready to integrate digital innovations into healthcare systems. This is crucial for improving healthcare quality, efficiency, and accessibility in a rapidly digitalizing world.

By involving patient organizations and offering workshops to patients themselves, the initiatives ensure that healthcare innovation is not just top-down but also bottom-up. Educating patients about digital tools like telemonitoring and health apps enables them to take a more active role in managing their health, contributing to better health outcomes.

The education programs are not limited to theory but actively focus on real-world applications like innovation management and eHealth implementation. This practical focus helps ensure that research and innovation reach clinical practice faster and more effectively, benefitting patients and society at large.
