Open Science at the UMCG

Open access publishing contributes to transparency and openness in science and makes research visible to the whole community. The aim of the UMCG is to achieve the national ambition of 100% open access publishing in 2021.

The UMCG supports the FAIR data principles: findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability. It has a FAIR data and data stewardship policy and offers support and advice to UMCG researchers and PhD candidates on FAIR data management.

In order to achieve maximal societal impact, UMCG researchers engage with a variety of end users and non-academic stakeholders, with the ultimate goal to stimulate innovation in healthcare and share knowledge.

The UMCG aims to create an open, safe and inclusive work environment, with equal opportunities for all employees, where everyone feels at home regardless of personal differences and backgrounds.
