In order to promote the development and implementation of trustworthy and human-centred AI, the Dutch AI coalition and the Dutch Research Council have decided to set up several ELSA (Ethical, Legal and Societal Aspects) labs. A proposal by a consortium of researchers, social partners, companies, citizens and patients to set up an ELSA lab in the Northern region has been granted. In this webinar by the Data Science Center in Health (DASH) of the UMCG on March 30, Mirjam Plantinga and Claudine Lamoth will explain how the ELSA lab Northern Netherlands aims to contribute to responsible development and implementation of AI in the Northern region.
Mirjam Plantinga has a background in economics, philosophy and sociology and conducts research on responsible implementation of healthcare innovations, with a particular focus on innovations in the field of genetics and e-health innovations.
Claudine Lamoth works at the department of Human Movement Sciences. Her research focus on movement analysis, smart technology and ageing, with a particular focus on how innovations in the field of sensor technology and machine learning can be applied to support healthy lifestyles and healthy ageing.
