New UMCG Research Data Catalogue available for all researchers

News
The new UMCG Research Data Catalogue is live! The public metadata catalogue provides a systematic and searchable overview of our data sources available for research. Through our catalogue we contribute to the findability of research data and encourage reuse and collaboration. The new catalogue can be used by both UMCG researchers and researchers from other organisations.

Currently, the UMCG Research Data Catalogue is filled with metadata from our cohorts and biobanks. The next step is to expand the catalogue to other reusable UMCG data sources (e.g. study datasets).

What can the catalogue be used for?

Researchers inside and outside the UMCG can use the catalogue to search for sample and data collections relevant for their research. They can filter on, for example, age groups, data types and available data, such as: lab results, medication and lifestyle. Besides available samples and data, each individual profile page shows the cohort design, contributors, subcohorts, and collection events. The catalogue also features a contact button to establish a collaboration. The access conditions (e.g. research topic, informed consent, potential costs) differ per data source and should be discussed with the Principal investigators on an individual basis.

Involved parties

The development of the UMCG Research Data Catalogue is a collaboration between the Cohort and Biobank Coordination Hub (CBCH), the Genomics Coordination Center (GCC) and the Digital Competence Center (DCC).
