Biomaterials for Multifunctional Cancer Therapy and Tissue Engineering

The goal of our project is to achieve superior cancer therapy outcomes with diminished side effects by applying synergistic therapy of free radical-producing nanoparticles (NPs) and O2 generation nanoarchitectures. In light of delivering free radicals to tumor microenvironment and reversing tumor hypoxia, great endeavors have been under taken in recent years, but their efficiency hampered by some substantial drawbacks including low performance of nanocatalysts and low amount of reactants in the tumor site. This project will be focused on development of a multifunctional platforms to synergistically abolish cancer cells and settle the current problems to eventually enhance the survival rate and life quality of breast cancer patients.
