During my PhD I am engaging in advancing properties of endovascular stent graft material used in aortic aneurysm. By taking a closer look at graft’s material physical characteristics, I am aiming to promote stent ingrowth into the aortic wall. Furthermore, I am advancing my skills in the field of tissue engineering where I am working on a blood vessel model for pre-clinical testing purposes. Running the project together with the surgery department provides me with favourable circumstances to better understand unmet need of elderly patients with aortic aneurysm and work on truly translational research.
