The personalised implants ecosystem has come to an end

The personalised implants ecosystem (https://personalisedimplants.nl/) has come to an end and we are looking back at a fruitful period where many new collaborations have been initiated. A crucial interaction between the UMCG, RuG, Hanze and many local companies such as: Polyvation, Bether Encapsulates, BiomACS, VDL Wientjes, ELBO Technics, Witec, HP Moulding, EV Biotec, Innovisie, and Smart polymers.

Here the department of Biomaterials & Biomedical Technology played a large role and a PhD-student (Clio Siebenmorgen, van-Rijn-lab) and two postdocs (Roderick de Hilster, van-Rijn-lab; Peter Pijpker, Othopaedics) were directly funded from this scheme paving to road towards many new collaborations and hopefully, product developments for the clinic.
