Jon Laman receives prestigious Jon van Rood medal

Starting from 2017 the Dutch Society for Immunology (N.V.V.I.) has introduced the ‘DSI honorary member’ and the award that goes with this honorary status is called the ‘Jon van Rood medal’. Members that qualify for this status have made an extraordinary contribution to the field of immunology in the Netherlands in the broadest sense.

Jon Laman is full professor Immunology of Ageing at the dept of Pathology and Medical Biology. He is being honored for his significant contributions to promoting immunology knowledge among the general public through outreach and education. His efforts have advanced the quality of immunology research and increased the societal impact of those active in the field. Throughout his career, he has supported the Dutch Society for Immunology by serving on various DSI/NVvI committees. Additionally, he has been an outstanding mentor and role model for many young immunologists.
