More about the grant and research

Each year, the Schmidt Science Fellows program selects a small group of exceptional recent PhD graduates from around the world, recognizing them as some of the most promising early-career scientists. The fellowship is designed to empower these researchers to address some of the world's most pressing challenges through interdisciplinary science. A key requirement of the program is that Fellows pivot to a new field in order to foster interdisciplinary thinking. Marta will shift her focus from immunology to the molecular study of RNA translation. Through this pivot, she aims to contribute to the development of next-generation RNA therapeutics with broad and impactful clinical potential.
