Dr. Hylke C. Donker is a data scientist in the department of lung diseases and data manager of the NELSON dataset. While trained as a Physicist (MSc + PhD), his current focus is bringing developments in artificial intelligence (AI) into the hands of doctors. Hylke is particularly fascinated by the interplay of layers of molecular information (omics) that govern disease. He believes that harnessing AI will be imperative to unlock nature’s secrets, so that we can bring new treatments to the patient.
