Good news for companies, research institutes and healthcare institutions: the new IMPACT programme offers co-financing for initiatives aimed at improving organ transplantation by means of advanced machine perfusion technology. €1.2 million is available for the IMPACT programme. Project proposals to qualify for funding from the IMPACT programme can be submitted from june 1.

The University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG) and Erasmus MC are managing this new Innovative Machine Perfusion for Advancing Clinical Transplantation (IMPACT) Programme. It aims to advance machine perfusion technologies for organ preservation, -evaluation and -repair. The aim is to reduce waiting times, improve patient outcomes and position the Netherlands as a world leader in transplant innovation.

Through collaboration between top institutes and private partners, innovative solutions will be promoted to improve organ viability, promote regeneration and reduce immunogenicity.

The IMPACT programme has been made possible by the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) grant scheme of the Top Consortium for Knowledge and Innovation - Life Sciences & Health (TKI-LSH alias Health~Holland). Through the programme, parties have the opportunity to apply for PPP projects.

Proposals that fit within one or more of the above themes are welcome to be submitted from June 1st. The programme group gives strategic priority to applied research, focusing on technologies with practical applications within industrial research.
