Our research is clinically relevant, directly applicable and it is mostly conducted in interdisciplinary and regional collaboration. In doing so, we use the full breadth of methodology with a spearhead in qualitative research. To promote end-user and implementation, we strive for design in co-creation with the target group, with results directly applicable for practice.

To achieve appropriate patient-centered hospital care, we focus on four research lines:

  • Substantiate methods and outcomes for shared decision-making to tailor treatment to the individual patient and their desired goals;
  • Gather scientific evidence on the benefits of an optimally coordinated treatment for patients with multiple chronic conditions;
  • Underpin the value of proactive care planning so that there is more evidence for outcomes in non-curative treatment;
  • Contribute to the knowledge of cognitive functioning in diseases and its impact on integrated care.
