As a physician I noticed that patients would not improve after many consults, to the point I thought patients did not care about their health. Eventually I read about a concept explaining that not all patients process medical information equally, which can be a barrier for improvement. Then I felt I had to better understand this concept so patients around the world can benefit from it. This is why I am doing a PhD in Public Health focusing on Health literacy and Multimorbidity.
