From a highly competitive pre‑selection round, Daniela emerged as one of only three finalists, and today, she impressed the jury once again with an outstanding pitch on:
🧬 “Quantum sensing for cancer diagnosis”
Daniela’s work showcases how diamond‑based quantum sensing can distinguish between breast cancer cells and healthy breast cells at the cellular level. This breakthrough approach could transform early detection strategies and open new avenues in cancer diagnostics.
✨ Even more exciting:
First experiments to replicate these findings using patient-derived material are already underway!
Her project is part of Nanodetect, a powerful cross‑border collaboration bringing together with BBT/UMCG (Prof. Schirhagl's group), University of Münster,  University of Osnabrück, QT Sense, BillX, Juke, The Leibniz Institute of Surface Engineering, and supported by the Interreg VI Germany–Netherlands program. 🤝🌍
Daniela’s achievement highlights not only her talent and dedication but also the impact of interdisciplinary teamwork and international collaboration in pushing scientific boundaries.

Please join us in congratulating Daniela on this fantastic and well‑deserved recognition! 🙌🎉
The future of cancer diagnostics is being reimagined — and today, Daniela showed us how.
