PETRA is used for medical and scientific research into how mental health symptoms manifest in daily life — and how the quality of care can be improved. Read more about our research projects and how clients can take part.
Clients Participating in PETRA
PETRA is part of medical research focused on understanding how psychological symptoms present in everyday life. It also explores how we can improve care quality and determine which treatments are most effective — and for whom.
The following research projects are currently being conducted within PETRA:
Implementatieproject
This project aims to structurally implement and integrate PETRA diaries into the routine care provided by five mental healthcare institutions in the Netherlands. It investigates which factors promote or hinder successful implementation and how this knowledge can be used to optimise the process.
CycleWise
The CycleWise project involves the development of a digital menstrual diary within PETRA. This makes it easier to link symptoms to the menstrual cycle and supports shared decision-making between patients and care providers, such as nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, and gynaecologists, to improve the quality of care.
Digi-CBT
Digi-CBT is a digital module based on the ABC model from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), designed to support structured self-reflection and therapeutic guidance.
Turning the Tide (Het Roer Om)
Het Roer Om pilot project focuses on the scaling up, implementation, and evaluation of the PETRA diary in routine mental health and psychiatric care.
Therap-i Study
The Therap-i study examines whether smartphone-based diary assessments can contribute to reducing depressive symptoms. The Therap-i module, which includes both diary entries and feedback, is integrated into regular psychological treatment for depression.
