DASH - Call for Proposals 2022

News
Once a year you can apply for a DASH Project Grant and thereby get dedicated support from the DASH team for getting your research project started. DASH Project Grants are open to UMCG-researchers, working in (pre)clinical UMCG departments, who perform promising research that involves challenges regarding (big or complex) data, research IT, eHealth or data science. Approved projects will be adopted as 'DASH projects' and receive dedicated data science support from the DASH team. The DASH project call for 2022 is now open!

Criteria for the research project you want to propose for your DASH Project Grant:

  • It should be related to above mentioned DASH themes
  • It is not possible to perform the project without additional support
  • It requires a (data science) solution not yet available at within UMCG
  • This solution will be beneficial for (many) more researchers within the whole UMCG
  • It needs to be an innovative research project

The current call is open until the 31st of December, 2021. To apply for a DASH Project Grant, you can fill out the one-page application form and send it to [email protected]. In this form you need to answer the following questions:

  • Which research question do you want to answer?
  • How does your research question relate to the DASH themes; i.e. how will (part of) its outcomes improve data science, eHealth or research IT facilities within UMCG?
  • Why will your outcome be innovative and benefit the whole UMCG regarding data science, eHealth or research IT facilities?
  • Explain that there is no solution for your data science, eHealth or research IT facility-related problem at present within UMCG.
  • Why can’t you solve this data science, eHealth or research IT facility-related problem on your own?

Four applicants will be selected and invited to pitch their innovative research project. The pitches will be evaluated by a committee that will decide which two research projects are adapted as DASH project and will receive receive dedicated DASH support.
