I am a PhD candidate at the department of Human Movement Sciences of the University of Groningen and University Medical Center Groningen. My research revolves around motor learning and motor teaching in rehabilitation. Using observational study designs, I aim to gain insight in the motor teaching strategies that are currently employed in rehabilitation interventions for varying populations: children with developmental coordination disorder (DCD), people with Parkinson's disease, people after stroke. These insights from rehabilitation inform research – helping to design experimental studies that are better generalizable and applicable to clinical practice – and advance our understanding of the mechanisms behind effective motor teaching in practice.
