PhD student

Thomas Rust is a PhD student under the supervision of Bart Eggen, Susanne Kooistra, and Inge Holtman. His research investigates the contribution of microglia and astrocytes to neurodegenerative diseases, with a primary focus on Alzheimer’s Disease. His project aims to investigate these glial cells in postmortem human brain tissue using single-cell transcriptomics, spatial transcriptomics, and single-cell epigenetic analysis.
