Several instruments to assess symptoms and disability in patients with upper extremity problems are available, such as questionnaires and functional capacity evaluation (FCE). Knowledge about their measurement properties in (Dutch) patients with (non)specific complaints of hand, wrist and forearm is limited, which hinders clinical use. The aim of my research project is to assess the measurement properties of three questionnaires (Quick Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand, Patient Rated Wrist/Hand Evaluation and Hand Function Sort) and upper extremity FCE (a battery of standardized assessments, such as grip strength and dexterity testing). Furthermore, a specific part aims to gain insight in the effects of disorders of hand, wrist and forearm on health-related physical fitness.
