The network for pancreatic organ donors with diabetes (nPOD) innovation award for ‘Islet nanotomy’ was handed to Ben Giepmans at the 15th nPOD meeting. An open-access EM data repository of nPOD biobanked tissue was created, analysed, and published. This is possibly the largest database of its kind and is still expanding. Islet nanotomy is shared open access in a FAIR way (link), being mined by several other scientists.
