Network project 'Generating impact with ELSA labs' honoured by NWO

News
Last week, the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) honoured the network project 'Generating impact with ELSA labs', led by UMCG researcher Mirjam Plantinga. Within this project, five previously funded ELSA Labs will work together on generalising research results, building an AI ecosystem and developing a blueprint of the ELSA Lab method.

Earlier this year, the consortium ELSA Northern Netherlands (ELSA-NN) received a grant of over 2 million Euros for research on the responsible development and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. With this new funding for the network project ‘Generating impact with ELSA labs: Building the foundation for the ELSA lab blueprint and network’, the realisation of the impact with the national ELSA labs can continue. The network project will facilitate the development and dissemination of ELSA lab knowledge and identify lessons learned from the design and development of the labs. The knowledge gained will then be translated into an ELSA lab blueprint, consisting of a set of principles in the field of ELSA lab cooperation, methods, impact and sustainability. Knowledge development and dissemination will be facilitated by an ELSA lab learning network, for which this network project will lay the foundations.

This network project is a collaboration between UMCG, Brightlands Smart Services Campus, Wageningen University & Research, TNO, Erasmus University Rotterdam and the University of Amsterdam.
