My primary expertise is clinical research in patients with neurovascular disease. My goal is to improve outcomes for patients with acute ischemic stroke by optimizing (endovascular) reperfusion techniques and by evaluating different organizational models for (regional) acute stroke care. In addition, I am interested in the development of new endovascular treatment strategies for acute ischemic stroke and for intracranial aneurysms. Most of my research is conducted within the CONTRAST consortium.
