Marjolein is a Technical Physician with expertise in signal analysis, wearable sensors and telemonitoring. She has a Bachelor in Human Movement Sciences from the University of Groningen and a Master in Technical Medicine from the University of Twente. In 2022, she obtained her PhD with her thesis entitled “Towards clinical application of perioperative telemonitoring” at the Department of Surgery of the UMCG, in collaboration with the Department of Biomedical Signals and Systems (telemedicine cluster) of the University of Twente. She currently works as a postdoc researcher at the Department of Anesthesiology in the UMCG, focusing on perioperative (tele-)monitoring. Alongside her scientific work, she fulfills a role as advisor at the Innovation Center of the UMCG to support colleagues in the application of new technology in clinical practice.
