Lifelines NEXT participants will have the opportunity to receive their own pharmacogenetic passport this month. This passport provides insights into how someone's DNA can impact the effectiveness of medications. With this innovation, we can better tailor medication prescriptions to each patient's individual situation. Project leader Jackie Dekens: ‘Our goal is that all citizens in the Netherlands can eventually get a pharmacogenetic passport and, with appropriate individual dosing, receive tailored care tailored to their needs.'
