“To take care is perhaps the most profound description of why I do what I do. As an anaesthesiologist, I take care on the patient in the perioperative process. Not only to facilitate the surgical procedure, but also with the responsibility for patients’ well-being. Throughout my career and as doctor, scientist, and academic teacher, I have recognized that personal development and well-being is as important as professional development and is now one of my research priorities. Building an organization and curriculum that encourages learning, stimulates curiosity, and fosters talent development is extremely rewarding for me.”
