Improving patient perspectives by understanding the mechanisms of disease

As a physician-scientist my aim is to deliver the best patient care of today, but also that of tomorrow. Through clinical and fundamental studies insights in the mechanisms of rare liver disease can be obtained, which help to optimize treatment for individual patients and to develop better treatment strategies for (future) patients.
