My research programme focuses on the organisation of midwifery and maternity care, with particular attention to the needs of marginalised women. This group of women has suboptimal access to care and needs more attention to reduce inequalities and improve pregnancy outcomes. I also prioritise the well-being of (student) midwives and the sustainability of the midwifery workforce, as the well-being of midwives is essential to the provision of high quality care. Depending on the type of research, I use different methods in my research. However, I have specialised in qualitative research and action research.
