Lysosomal cholesterol trafficking

 My project is focused on understanding how lipoprotein-derived cholesterol is distributed from lysosomes towards other cellular compartments. This can give us insight in the regulation of cellular and systemic cholesterol homeostasis in health and disease. The idea that our fundamental research on lysosomal storage disease could improve patients' lives in the future is a strong motivator.
