Improving effects of chemo-radiotherapy on normal tissues

 My aim is to improve cancer treatment in the form of enhanced tumor control and reduced therapy-related side-effects. As such, my research focuses on:

- Strategies to overcome chemoresistance, using (e.g) recombinant fusion proteins.
- Drug repurposing projects to target senescent cells.
- Stem cell-based strategies to mitigate side-effects of radiotherapy.
- Advanced culture models, including normal tissue organoids and organotypic slice cultures.
