Research using HAMLETT-data

External researchers can request HAMLETT-data for their own research. Requests can be made through the coordinator ([email protected]). A request can be sent including the topic and goal of the research project, so an overview can be made listing all research topics and researchers active on a topic.

After sending the initial request for collaboration, the research coordinator will return to you with three documents:

  1. HAMLETT Publication Procedure 1.2_ 20240326
This document explains how to complete a publication proposal, how to obtain the data and what to do after your request was accepted. It also lays out some terms and conditions.
  2. HAMLETT Publication Proposal version 3 2026 06 01
This document is the proposal, where we ask you to add details about the scope of your research, the data you would like to use and the timeline of your project.
  3. HAMLETT Form Delegation Log Data Request
This document needs to be signed using your name, initials and signature.
After submitting the publication proposal, the HAMLETT-OPHELIA executive board, consisting of several professors, doctors and psychiatrists from multiple health centers in the Netherlands, will review your proposal and decide whether they want to be actively involved in your project. The board usually takes 4 weeks to review a proposal, so keep that in mind.

When accepted, the coordinator will ask you to update the proposal based on advice and feedback from board members. When updated, you will receive the following documents regarding obtaining the data:

  • Codebook_HamlettOphelia
A codebook exported from the eCRF REDCap, listing the data in detail.
  • Standard Operating Procedure HAMLETT data requests
A guide on how to make the request.
  • Variabelen_aanvragen
An Excel tool on selecting your desired variables.
After receiving your data, you can work on your analyses and writing your manuscript, following the guidelines given in 1. HAMLETT Publication Procedure 1.2_ 20240326.
