As an anaesthesiologist and clinical pharmacologist, my main research interest is in clinical pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, drug administration technology and drug effect monitoring. Our research group focuses on the study of the clinical pharmacology of various categories of drugs used during peri-operative medicine (anaesthesiology, emergency and intensive care medicine). The research lab has the possibility to perform complex Phase 1-4 drug development trials, including studies on drug interaction, advanced measures of drug effect measurements and population pharmacometrics. In close collaboration with various engineering groups and the industry, our clinical group investigates advanced methods for drug administration using control engineering methods and principles of machine learning.
