UMCG Innovation Lecture: From funding to impact, the next step in research valorisation

On September 29, the Innovation Center will host the upcoming UMCG Innovation Lecture in collaboration with Business Generator Groningen, an event dedicated to the valorisation of research and the role of funding in turning projects into societal and commercial impact.

Building on a growing interest in valorisation

Earlier this year, Business Generator Groningen organised the first Q&A on funding opportunities for research valorisation, where researchers explored how to translate their work into impact and navigate the many funding schemes available. The session made clear that while funding opportunities are plentiful, many researchers are looking for guidance on where to start and which route best fits their research. The upcoming Innovation Lecture builds directly on that first session.

What to expect

During the lecture, the Innovation Center will guide participants through:

  • What valorisation looks like in practice, from proof of concept to partnership or spin-off
  • How the Innovation Center supports UG/UMCG researchers at each stage of that journey
  • Real experiences and lessons from researchers who have gone through the process themselves

Who should attend

The lecture is aimed at researchers at the UG/UMCG who are curious about bringing their research closer to society, whether they are just starting to think about valorisation or are already exploring next steps.
