We are proud to present “Science with Impact; Collaborate with Industry to Advance and Valorize your Research!” The event is intended for researchers of the University of Groningen and the UMCG, who are curious about how they can develop their research into an innovative product in collaboration with industry.

We are looking forward to sharing information and guiding the increasing number of researchers bringing their research results to the market and society through collaborations with industry (via licensing), or by initiating entrepreneurial ventures themselves (establishing start-ups).

Wiro Niessen, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, UMCG: “Researchers often encounter nuanced dynamics of converting scientific knowledge into societal impact, particularly within healthcare. While collaborations between research institutions and companies hold significant promise, they also present inherent challenges. Amidst these complexities, the stories of researchers successfully translating their findings into practical solutions serve as instructive examples. These instances and the informative sessions not only highlight the potential of scientific innovation, but also underscore the importance of thoughtful collaboration in addressing societal needs. It is important for us to help our researchers, by sharing the knowledge and expertise and giving them a strong network to support their innovative ideas.”
