Brain Connectivity and Working Memory in Aging Adults

As a PhD student in the COGMAX project, I investigate the effect of transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) on working memory in older adults with amnestic mild cognitive impairment (MCI). This project is an important step in finding a preventive treatment against further cognitive decline in old age. We use a wide range of neuropsychological tests and neuroimaging techniques (fMRI, DTI) to understand comprehensively the potential benefits of tACS. In the upcoming project, we will take a step back and investigate brain connectivity in people with subjective cognitive decline, looking for insight for possible treatment.
