Protection against age-related neurodegeneration

My research interest lies in uncovering the fundamental mechanisms that shape development and ageing. I aim to understand how metabolic pathways protect the brain against cognitive decline during ageing and dementia. Drawing on my expertise in developmental biology, neurobiology, and genetics, I aim to uncover strategies that promote healthy ageing. Currently, I am investigating how we can target the tryptophan metabolism pathway to protect against age-related neurodegeneration, using the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans as a model organism.
