The center for CNC leads a Dutch Science Agenda funded research project MINDCOG on improving rumination in people remitted from depression. Rumination is a persistent symptom of many affective disorders that put people at risk for recurrent episodes. In this research, therapeutic techniques are explored for their use in moderating rumination and associated physiological responses using momentary assessment techniques. With this study we aim to understand how therapeutic techniques may impact the brain mechanisms underpinning rumination and which strategy works best for whom in lowering rumination. This project is a collaboration between the center for CNC and the Bernoulli Institute for Mathematics, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.
