Circular Plastics in Biomedical Research & Diagnostics

My research focuses on renewable bioplastics in the biomedical research field, aiming to combat the large streams of plastic waste originating from research laboratories. Currently, we are investigating bio-synthesized polyhydroxylalkanoates (PHAs) as a circular alternative to conventional polystyrene (PS) laboratory disposables. Next to that, I am the postdoc representative for the PRECISION Institute and member of the UMCG Postdoc Council. In that, I stand for representing our interests as postdocs, while aiming to create a strong postdoc community within the UMCG.
