In combination with my psychiatry residency I do research focused mainly on ketamine treatment for acutely suicidal patients (the KETA-trial). Treatment for these patients is often ineffective or slow to yield benefits. Ketamine, and psychedelics in general, offer a novel treatment with rapid clinical results. My ambition is to find out if these treatments can benefit suicidal patients and which factors influence treatment response, both biologically and psychotherapeutically.
