Rosie has a PhD in Biochemistry and has over 20 years of experience as a scientist and innovation manager. After finishing her education at Sofia University in Bulgaria, she moved to Germany. There, she worked at the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine in Hamburg and Max Plank Institute for Biochemistry in Munich, focusing on infectious diseases and protein fluorescence. Later she specialized in structural biology at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and as an STO was involved in the early development of the biological facilities at the European XFEL in Hamburg. She received several awards and was granted an MSCA fellowship. Later on she moved to the Netherlands and continued her personal development towards innovation in the healthcare sector. Rosie has been working at the UMCG since 2014 and is currently managing the EIT Health network and portfolio.
