Systems Thinking for Health Systems and Population Health

Every health issue is shaped by factors that extend beyond individuals and healthcare services. This recognition drives my interest in understanding how people, health systems, policies, and broader social and structural determinants influence population health and health equity. Using systems thinking and drawing on health economics, health systems and services research, public health epidemiology, and evidence synthesis, I examine diabetes care in Indonesia as a case study to understand how these interconnected factors shape access to care and health outcomes. My aim is to generate evidence that supports collaboration across sectors to build more equitable and sustainable health systems.
