Beyond disease control

 As a paediatric gastroenterologist, I want chronic illness to have as little impact as possible on how a child grows up. To me, providing good care means not only controlling the disease, but also understanding what children and their families need to lead as normal a life as possible. That is why I continuously look for ways to make care smarter, less burdensome, and more tailored to individual needs. Questions that arise in clinical practice often form the starting point for my research – and I am equally committed to translating the findings back into better care for my patients.
