My research within the psychedelic group focusses on the therapeutic value of psychedelic treatment for psychological problems in patients with (life-threatening) somatic illness. I am a member of the research team that is currently conducting a pilot study on oral esketamine for the treatment of depression and demoralization in patients with advanced cancer receiving palliative care. Further, I am interested in the psychotherapeutic factors that constitute psychedelic treatments. I combine research with clinical work as a psychologist, and I am currently in residency to become a mental health care psychologist.
