Mental health is shaped by interacting individual, environmental, and sociocultural factors, making both prevention and promotion inherently complex. Public health programmes increasingly respond to this complexity through whole-systems approaches, intersectoral action, and collaboration across multiple stakeholders. My research examines how the impact and implementation of such programmes can be evaluated in real-world settings, amidst growing complexity. Using mixed-methods and participatory approaches, I work with patients, citizens, and other actors to generate evidence that reflects diverse perspectives and strengthens the inclusion of groups that are often underrepresented in health research.
