UMCG, one of the founding members
The UMCG is one of the founding members of Healthy Ageing Network Northern Netherlands (HANNN). A quadruple helix ecosystem with all the major stakeholders in the field of active and healthy ageing in the Northern Netherlands among its membership. HANNN focuses on the life course of people and promotes active and healthy ageing in the broadest possible sense.
Our Healthy Ageing Network Northern Netherlands (HANNN) organizes the interaction between the Healthy Ageing knowledge institutions, policymakers and society. Our goal is: more healthy years.
We work locally to stimulate a healthy lifestyle
Our HANNN network works together with local communities to offer an environment that stimulates a healthy lifestyle. We chart local networks and through them simultaneously promote:
- active citizenship,
- accessible green,
- active lifestyle,
- healthy mobility,
- healthy living
- and healthy food.
We drive regional innovation
In 2019 HANNN was awarded the ‘Certificate of Excellence’ by the European Commission in recognition of the outstanding work in driving regional innovation in active and healthy ageing, improving the quality of life of the ageing population, making health and social care delivery more sustainable and stimulating economic growth and competitiveness.
