Are you a researcher at UMCG doing data science or machine learning, now or on the near future? In this hands-on workshop you will learn what tools and support the UMCG offers to help with your research needs!

What to expect

• A clear overview of the steps in data-driven research, including data management, analysis and deployment.
• Introduction to key tools, such as data storage (e.g. research drive), research management (azure devops) and secure digital environments (e.g. myDRE).
• Practical insights into safely storing and sharing data, collaborating with other hospitals and finding support. · Hands-on work in a virtual research environment.
• Option to ask questions to the UMCG Digital Competence Center (DCC). The DCC is the front-office supporting researchers on data and research software management.

What NOT to expect

• We do not teach machine learning or data science techniques, but we focus on the research tools and support that is relevant for people working on machine learning or data science.

Any UMCG researcher working in the field of data science or machine learning. Whether you have some experience, are just starting out and looking for a first overview or are supporting others in their research.

The workshop will be in English and experience with data science or machine learning is not required. Please bring a fully charged laptop. During the session, there will be plenty of time for questions and one-on-one support.
