Hands-on workshop: Research tools & support for Data Science & Machine Learning at UMCG

Are you a researcher at UMCG working with (or planning to work with) data science or machine learning? Then this hands-on workshop is for you.

Many researchers are not yet familiar with the tools, digital environments and support available at UMCG - this session will show you what's out there and help you get started.

What to expect:

  • A clear overview of the steps in data-driven research, including data management, analysis and deployment.
  • Introduction to key tools, such as data storage (e.g. research drive) and secure digital environments (e.g. myDRE)
  • Practical insights into safely storing and sharing data, collaborating with other hospitals and finding support.
  • Hands-on work in a virtual research environment.
  • Option to ask questions to the UMCG Digital Competence Center (DCC). The DCC is the front-office supporting researchers on data and research software management.

For whom?

Any UMCG researcher working in the field of data science or machine learning. Whether you have some experience, are just starting out and looking for a first overview or are supporting others in their research.

The workshop will be in English and experience with data science or machine learning is not required. Please bring a fully charged laptop. During the session, there will be plenty of time for questions and one-on-one support.
