On December 15th, the PhD candidate Gabriela Corrêa Carvalho (double PhD degree student of São Paulo State University (UNESP) and University of Groningen/University Medical Center Groningen-UMCG) from Professor Hélder Santos’ group received the best student award from the Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) at the 12th Annual International Convention & 6th Indo-Australian conference based on her academic curriculum. APP is an organization established in 2011 formed by dedicated professionals willing to serve the pharmaceutical profession, including students, professors, researchers, and industry professionals. The role of this association is to think about improving the community, mainly involving the young generation under the guidance of the previous generation.
In addition to this award, Gabriela got the second place for the best oral presentation award of the work entitled: “Physicochemical characterization of a lycopene-loaded mesoporous silica nanoparticle formulation” under the guidance of prof Marlus Chorilli (supervisor at UNESP, Brazil) and prof Hélder Santos (supervisor at UMCG, The Netherlands).
