🎉 Celebrating 30+ years of laughter, genius, and unforgettable moments at our department🎉
➡️After more than 30 years, today we say farewell to a true legend technician as Ed de Jong begins his well-earned retirement. 💙🔧
At our department, Ed was never just a technician. He was our problem solver, electronics wizard, computer guru, and much more😄
If something was broken, outdated, or “definitely beyond repair”… we all knew the solution: Bring it to Ed and he will fix it!✨
➡️ But what we’ll miss most isn’t only what Ed fixed. We’ll miss his laughter, his patience, his positivity, and the calm way he reminded us that every problem has a solution, and that work can actually be fun.
➡️ Ed supported generations of students, researchers, and colleagues. Not just with tools and cables, but with kindness, humor, and an always-open door. His legendary office full of wires, gadgets, and controlled chaos will forever be part of our collective memory 🧰🖥️
➡️ Ed, thank you for everything you’ve given us! You leave behinda legacy of connection, laughter, and humanity ❤️
Enjoy your retirement — you’ve earned it more than anyone.
👏 Congratulations, Ed — and don’t ever stop smiling! 😄🎉
