As long as I remember, I’ve been interested in the lives of poor people living in developing countries. My current research (in the Global Health unit of the UMCG and in an NGO in India) focuses on the drivers of malnutrition in women and children living in urban slums and refugee settings. As the determinants of child malnutrition are multifactorial the alleviation of malnutrition requires a multi-sectorial approach. I work therefore with people from different disciplines, which is very inspiring.
